Marcus Birks.
Born: Stoke On Trent, November 1980.
Marcus started to show an interest in music from a very early age, taking part in school plays.
Marcus was brought up on Soul, Motown, and Rock & Roll. Heavily influenced by bands such as Bon Jovi, Poison, and The Jackson Five, it was no doubt that he was going to entertain.
By the age of thirteen, Marcus had put his first band together and started to gig in youth clubs around his local area. A couple of years later, he had started to street dance, putting together a five piece band due to his fascination with the success of Robbie Williams and Take That. By the age of sixteen he took the lead in a tribute show to Peter Andre.
The next step for Marcus was when he joined a London based boy band, gigging alongside the likes of 911, Cleopatra, Steps, A1, Westlife, and S Club 7.
Even before he was out of his teens, Marcus was performing as a solo act and started to appear on shows such as Trisha, Dennis Norton Laughter Files, and Mel B’s ,This Is My Moment.
At 21 he made the final 35 for the ITV show ‘Popstar’s the Rivals’, and two years later he won best recruit on ITV’s hit show ‘Bad Lad’s Army’.
This lead to Marcus starting to perform on the pub and club circuit throughout the North West of England.
Eventually, he crossed paths with Lis, and invited her to perform as a guest act on his solo shows.
They then soon started to perform as a duo and the rest, as they say, is history.
