The week started very nicely...in bed! We slept like logs after our busy weekend and before we knew it, it was already the afternoon!! We're going on holiday in the summer, so we paid off some of that in town. Can't wait to see some sun!! Lis is so excited for the holiday, that she decided to browse the internet for some hotpants. Having emailed the company asking for them in her size, she soon discovered what she had ordered...a picture of Kate Beckinsale in hotpants!! No wonder they were so cheap!!
Not quite what Lis thought she had ordered...
On Tuesday, Marcus topped up his ever expanding tattoos. The portraits of musical legends began in earnest- Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly and Mr Elvis Presley himself. The pain continues!! The plan after that was to head to the gym, but we ended up falling asleep for hours. We didn't quite make that workout!!
The following day we had a meeting with the local press regarding our new involvement with SAAS as patrons. We were also making the first steps towards promoting a charity variety show on 22 May. We didn't realise there was going to be a photographer there though! We weren't looking great, and when he took us outside to do cheesy poses with a paper aeroplane, we thought it couldn't get any worse. Thankfully it didn't!! It was a good day though, and it's great to spread the word of The Staffordshire Adults Autistic Society.
In the evening we jetted off to Burton for a rare treat- seeing someone other than ourselves sing!! Vicky was very good, and a very nice girl too but, of course, not as good as Lis. Only joking. Lis really wants her microphone though as it was covered in crystals- it was gorgeous!!
Marcus was taught a lesson on the guitar on Thursday by Lis. Despite learning the whole verse of a song, he still sounded like a three year old when playing it. Still quite a long way until he can call himself the new Jimi Hendrix...
The pressure of learning guitar (badly) clearly put Marcus' head in a spin, so we got an early night before a nice early start on Friday, when we headed down to Worcester for a meeting with some songwriters about co-writing some new tracks for The Cameleonz. What was meant to be a relatively brief meeting ended up being eight hours of us chatting and eating loads of lovely food!
Sadly, the journey home was not so great, as we ended up being on the notorious M6 car-park, before being diverted miles out of our way. The strangest thing of the diversion though was having two men who were walking infront of our car on the dual carriage way!! In the end, an hour long journey took three hours. Perhaps we would have been better walking ourselves...
On Saturday night we had a gig near Wakefield. We had a brilliant night and there was some crazy dancing going on (and not just from Marcus)!!!
After getting back from our Wakefield gig really late, we had to get up bright and early on Sunday for an afternoon disco. It was for the kids from a council estate in the local area to help raise funds for a community group that we are members of, called "Haregate in Action", which is the estate Marcus was born and raised on. The event was a success and the kids all seemed to have fun, which is obviously the main thing.
As it was Valentine's Day, we ended the week by having a romantic take away and watching a film. The perfect way to relax and unwind!!
Thanks for your continued support,
Marcus & Lis xx
It's been another busy week for The Cameleonz! Naturally, it all started off with a trip to they gym (we're determined to work off those kebabs!!). On the Monday we had a meeting with one of our photgraphers. Before we started, we made it clear that we couldn't stay for long as we had other plans for the afternoon. However, after arranging a new shoot and looking at some old photos of our lovely faces, we realised that four hours had passed. How that happened, we'll never know!!
Marcus returned to the tattoo parlour on Tuesday to add to his tattoo on his arm. He was in so much pain, but got absolutely no sympathy off Lis who found it hilarious. Thanks Lis!!

After the pain, we picked up the new version of one of our songs. We were full of nerves as the producer told it was nothing like the original, but when we heard it, we instantly fell in love with it. We can't stop listening to it!!
With the song playing in the background, Marcus was left to build our new wardrobe on Wednesday. It was probably best to leave him alone as there was plenty of wearing and cursing coming from his direction!! We then had the ultimate dilemma. We spent two hours in B & Q trying to decide what colour shelves we should have. After TWO HOURS (yes, you read that right) we decided that our first choice of light brown was the right one. Seriously, how hard can that decision be?!!
We continued our busy Wednesday by making a trip to Marcus' old house to grab the rest of his stuff to move to his new place. Blimey- he's got more clothes than Lis!!
We woke up nice and early the following day and re-visited the gym. After working up a sweat, we got ready for an evening gig in Nottingham. Lis' brother came home from uni nice and early and came along with us. The gig was great, but the funniest moment of the night came when we got home.
Before we headed out to the gig, we went into Lis' brothers room and put a wig and a cushion under his duvet so it looked like someone was sleeping in his bed. When we got home from the gig (at about 2 in the morning) we heard a loud scream! He didn't dare go into his room and made Lis check it out. Although we obviously knew what it was, we played along before Lis cruelly revealed the wig. Her brother's face was an absolute picture- just wish we filmed it!! It might sound harsh, but we love scaring him!!!
It was another early start on Friday and, after a trip to the gym, we went home ahead of an important meeting with SAAS (Staffordshire Adults Autistic Society). We encountered a small problem though when we got home- Lis had forgotten her house keys! Nobody was in, so we were locked out!! With only 20 minutes before our meeting, we were in a bit for a panic! We rang Lis' mum to see if she had a key, but she was too far away and wouldn't back for ages. Lis' sister was at work, and her brother didn't have his key on him either.
So there we were sitting in Marcus' car in our smelly gym clothes wondering what on earth to do ahead of our meeting as everyone else would be suited and booted! Lis came up with one final plan so we drove to her aunty's house and broke in through her back door. Marcus put on his old gig clothes (a small improvement on the gym wear) and Lis frantically applied some make-up. Lis' aunty still doesn't know we ransacked her house- we were good burglars!!
After all of that, we had a decent meeting before heading back off to Nottingham for another gig. Wow, what a Friday!!
Saturday was spent searching for a new tambourine as we smashed ours to pieces- we rock far too hard!! After hunting everywhere, we finally found one in a little music shop, before going back to Nottingham for yet another gig there. I swear we should live there!! We had a brilliant night and Marcus' sister came along with her boyfriend and his mum. I'm pretty sure they all enjoyed it- although we didn't get back until really late. While everyone was snoring their heads off, poor old Marcus had to put matchsticks under his eyelids as he drove home!!
We treated ourselves to a nice Sunday lie-in after all the gigging, before heading off for a nice meeting over a meal to discuss events for SAAS. We are proud and honoured to announce that we are now patrons of the SAAS alongside Pete Conway (Robbie Williams' dad) , Su Annagib (winner of Jonathan Wilkes' Stoke's top talent) and Gillian Devgon.
We are all now planning a variety show in the Regent Theatre for May 2010 so keep popping back for the latest news!!
Thanks for all your support guys- it means so much

Well, it's been just another normal week in the life of The Cameleonz!
Monday seems like an absolute lifetime ago, but we decided to continue our fitness burst and headed off to the gym, giving a dance mix of "Should I Stay" to the owner, John. He only went and embarassed us by constantly playing it! It's hard to lift weights when you are as red as a tomato!!
We made another trip to the gym the following day, but then ruined it all by heading to Nando's in Nottingham, where we celebrated Lis' brothers 19th birthday. It was well worth it though, we had a great night and you can't argue with Nando's chicken!!!
Our big plan to work off the Nando's was to hunt down a wardrobe for our ever expanding collection of clothes. You would have thought that finding a wardrobe would be pretty easy. Let us tell you- it isn't!! We ended up driving round half the country in search for a wooden box!! We eventually ordered one from Argos. What a pain in the backside!! Oh yeah, we also went to the gym again!!
Thursday was an important day- we moved our office. After plenty of in depth discussions and meetings, it was decided that the office would move all the way from Marcus' house to Lis'! Glad we sorted that...
Friday was definately the start of a hectic weekend for us. We got up nice and early to do some sightseeing of the East Lincolnshire coast before our gig in the evening. As we got closer to the venue though, it began to snow. As it came down heavier and heavier, we ended up having to walk across the freezing cold beach. Lis was not happy- it was absolutely freezing. We've had enough of this snow now- bring back the sun!!
After finishing the show, we travelled to Corporal Nyauko's house (from Bad Lad's Army). After stopping for chicken kebabs on the way (yum yum), we ended up getting to Nooky's house at about 2 in the morning. The last thing you want at that time of the day is a few jabs to the ribs, but that was Marcus' welcome! Lis was far luckier- getting a nice big hug!!
Just as we were looking forward to a Saturday morning lie in, we were woken up in true military style at 7.00 by Nooky, who asked us if we wanted to go for a 2 mile walk. Errr, no thanks!!
It was great to catch up with Nooky during the day though, and we watched a repeat of Celebrity Big Brother. Marcus reckons the guy from Basshunter is an absolute legend. Why? For shouting out "I love farts" on National TV!!! He still laughs now!!
We travelled across Lincolnshire for our next gig on Saturday night. We had to drive down some jeepers creepers road which freaked us out, but it was well worth it to get to our destination- Brant Road Social Club. We had an amazing gig and met some really cool people. Had an ace time!
Our Sunday gig was in Chesterfield, but we got there eary. Very early! Infact, FOUR hours early!! To pass the time, we headed to the cinema and watched 'The Edge of Darkness'. It was a pretty good film to be fair. There was still enough time before our gig to sit in the car and tune into Radio 1 for the top 40, as we do religiously every weekend! So glad Fireflies made it to number one, it's a mint tune!
The gig had a bit of a slow start as we were getting major technical problems, but hey, what's life without a few technical probs?!! Lis reckons she got an electric shock off the lights, but it was more of a static shock so don't worry, she's still alive! After the start, it ended up being a good night though. It was awesome to hear "Should I Stay" blasting out of your cars after the gig.
So, the end of a nice quiet week and we finished up back in sunny Stoke! Don't forget to pop back onto the website every week for our latest updates!!
Marcus and Lis xx
