The Cameleonz

Welcome back to a new week, now we are usually quite busy in our weeks but this one was just crazy!

So to start off Monday we got quite early and had to run around sorting out contracts and other things, reason why we had to run around was because we had a gig in the evening, now we haven’t done a Monday night gig in ages so it was quite unusual, it felt like a Saturday!

Anyway the gig was in Grimethorp and to be fair the venue was packed for a Monday night! We didn’t think anyone would be in there, the gig went really well and the whole crowd seemed to really enjoy themselves, they didn’t let us get off stage until 12am, so god help the people who had work the next morning!

We didn’t get till really late but we didn’t really mind as we could have a bit of a lie in, in the morning.

We got up on Tuesday morning and went to the gym first thing, as we had a rehearsal in the evening for the ‘Variety Show’. We did the rehearsal at the ‘Victoria Hall’, in Stoke. All the acts were there and we all went through our routines in the order we were performing in.

And to our amazement there weren’t any problems or anything it went really well. Pete Conway was there and the funniest thing was when one of the acts were rehearsing their bit, Pete suddenly stopped the show and got on stage and basically budged this poor lad out of the way to show him how it was done.

Thank god everyone found the funny side of it especially the lad on stage LOL. But Pete did an ace job and the lad really learnt a few things from him, as he’s a real old school entertainer, just how we like them.

So we finished rehearsals at about 8.30pm and then we went straight to get something to eat with our friend Brooklyn as we hadn’t eaten for about 10 hours!!!

On Wednesday, Lis had the rest of her tattoo done. The numbing cream came out again but it didn’t really work! All the shading had to be done and it would of worked if ‘Ray’ (our tattooist) didn’t shade over the same bit about 20times! LOL. So she was in a lot of pain, credit to her though, she got through it without moaning!

Now she is glad it is done and on the way to recovery! No more for a while yet!

After the tattoo was finished we had to rush home to get a quick change of clothes and then bomb it over to ‘Leek’, where we were doing a Karaoke. We love doing karaoke’s as its great to see people get up and give the singing thing a go. Some people are just hilarious, and even thought at the start they always say, ‘I’m not getting up and singing’, as soon as their mates do they are up on the stage like a shot and singing away.

We did a competition to see who the best karaoke singer was, not just who could sing in tune but who was the most entertaining. And the brewery was giving away a GALLON OF BEER for the prize. Yes you read that right it was a full gallon!! We were just as shocked!

The night was a great success, the venue was packed which was great, there were three guys that won and we called them ‘The Three Musketeers’,  they were fantastic and really funny, and like good guys they shared the beer. We aren’t surprised though, who could possibly drink that much beer on there own?!

Yet again we didn’t get in till really late, even though it was just a karaoke we stayed around chatting to the bar staff, as you do!

But on Thursday it wasn’t that bad as we had the day off, which was nice, and it was a really sunny day. Lis went shopping with her mum, and came back with two new dresses for stage! That’s women for you; they can’t come back empty handed!

And for the rest of the afternoon we sat outside to try and get a tan. In the evening we went off to our local town with Brooklyn, and went out for a meal. We didn’t know what we wanted to eat but in the end we ended up settling in a meditterianian restaurant, which was lovely.

On Friday we went into town to try and find some leggings and shoes for Lis’s new dresses, but we weren’t that successful really! Instead we came back with guitar strings and vitamin tablets, so quite the opposite of what we originally went for up for.LOL.

So we spent most of the day outside again as it was lovely, and at night we ordered a takeaway with Lis’s mum and sat down to watch telly.

We are sure it was the hottest day on Saturday, it was absolutely boiling! Who needs a holiday when we’ve got this weather here?

We spent most of the morning sun bathing and Marcus forgot to take his vest off for the first 2 hours, so now he has a vest tanned on to him LOL. Lis’s mum went out to buy some fish for the man made pond Marcus and Lis’s mum’s partner had built.

We were hoping she wouldn’t come back with tropical fish as they would just die in the pond, but to our amazement she didn’t! She came back with 5 goldfish and a spotted one. Oh and some plants so the fish could hide under them, so she said Ha-Ha.

When we put the fish in the pond, Lis’s dog spotted them and went wild; she went like a crazy dog that was that obsessed with them she didn’t leave the pond all night, now we are talking from 1.30pm till 8pm at night!! She had never seen fish before so we all thought she was waiting for them to jump out of the pond so she could chase them LOL.

We had a sound check in the afternoon at 2.30pm for the ‘Variety Show’, in the evening. We all went in our summer shorts and vests as it was to hot to wear anything else apart from bikini’s and swimming shorts, but we thought that would be inappropriate! LOL.

When we did our sound checks we walked up into town to get some dinner and just chill out before we had to get ready for the show.

We weren’t performing until the end of the show so we sat right at the top of the theatre and watched the other acts, which were really good. The venue wasn’t as packed as we would have liked it to be but never the less, the crowd were amazing. Our personal trainers, ‘John’, and ‘Abel’, came to watch us along with some of our family which was great. The show was a massive success, everyone one did really well, and even our friend Brooklyn came on stage as ‘Lenny the Lion’, to present a cheque for the charity we raised money for. He loved it as that was his five minutes of fame, LOL. ‘2 Grand’ from ‘Britain’s got Talent’, were the guest act on the show and they  were really good, we cant believe the girls voice for a 13year old! And her granddad, well he was just great, he was such a nice man and fit as a fiddle for his age.

At the end of the night all of the acts got on stage along with Pete Conway who compared the show, to give bows to the audience and then we all sang ‘Hay Baby’, and the whole crowd joined in. We had such a good time; we didn’t want it to end.

But still even after everyone had gone home we went out for something to eat with our trainers and chilled out and chatted until early hours. We felt a bit sorry for Brooklyn though as he ha to be up at 5am for work! Oops..............

We woke up quite early on Sunday as it was yet another really hot sunny day, so we couldn’t wait to sun bath, even though we were really tired t didn’t seem to matter, we were making the most of this sun as we don’t get it very often, and it will probably snow next week!!!!

As we were sunbathing Brooklyn pulled up on our drive in his car with his Halloween butler strapped on to his roof! Now this butler is a really scary looking man who talks and breathes and follows you with his eyes, so it was pretty creepy! He must have had some looks whilst he was driving to our house.

We thought he was absoultely mad when he turned up; he was just laughing his head off, probably at our faces as we were in shock! LOL.

So we got him off the roof of his car and set him up in the garden, so when Lis’s sisters arrived for a barbeque we were having they were really freaked our every time they walked past it, as it spoke to them and followed them with its eyes Ha-Ha.

We had a lovely barbeque in the garden even though none of us really felt like eating s lot as it was just too hot. So we mainly eat loads of ice-cream.

In the evening we had a gig, but it wasn’t too bad as it was only down the road form our house in a local venue. Inside the venue though it was even hotter then it was outside, so as soon as we started singing, sweat was pouring off us, what a lovely sight for everyone LOL.

Brooklyn’s friend came along with her mum to watch us which was great, there weren’t that many in the venue as it was probably too hot for everyone but for those that were in there, we had a great night to finish off the day.

So now we are hoping that the sun continues to beam down on us and we have a really hot summer, but as its England there’s probably not much chance in that happening. This is probably the most sun we will get now until next year!

Stay tuned for next week’s blog, have a great week........................
