Welcome back guys; hope you all had a great week......................
Well our week started off great, on Monday as it was bank holiday and it was a lovely day we spent most of it outside in the sun and then in the evening we did a disco at a local pub which had had a fun day on all day.
The disco was great; everyone was up dancing all night and had a brill time. We were supposed to finish it at 10pm, but because everyone was enjoying it that much we stayed on till 11.30pm!! It was great.
Marcus wasn’t very well on Tuesday, his hay fever was really bad so he didn’t feel like doing anything, so for most of the day he stayed in bed trying to recover, as that was his plan for his day it didn’t last very long.
We had a phone call from his sister, she was very upset and in a lot of pain, and as she is 6 months pregnant it was very worrying, so we rushed her to the hospital and spent most of the evening there with her, but we didn’t mind, as long as she was ok that’s all that matters, and she was and so was the baby, the doctor just gave her some tablets and just told her to rest so that was a relief.
When we got back home Marcus went straight back to bed and carried on with his recovery.
Wednesday was another great day; we did a karaoke back at the local pub where we did the disco. The last karaoke there was really good so we were hoping this one would be just as good and even more people turned up.
And to our delight it was, the venue was absolutely packed to the brim and everyone was up for a laugh and some karaoke singing. We did the competition again which we did last time and it yet a gain it was a success, there was some good singing going on and some very good entertaining!!
So we mainly judged this by crowd reaction, which was that loud for all the contestants, it was like being at Wembley!!
Eventually we picked a winner which was a guy who was moving back to his home town the next day so it was a good send off for him. The prize was a gallon of beer again (yes the pub are still being very generous!!)
So he went home a very happy guy, with a belly full of beer, literally. LOL.
As we had, had a week off the gym because Marcus wasn’t very well, we thought we would give it a go on Thursday, and to give us that extra boost, Lis’s mum’s partner was joining us as he was thinking about joining our gym.
Before we went though Lis went out to buy some plants for the garden with her mum, whilst Marcus stayed in and cleaned the car. When Lis got back she helped finish off the car and then Marcus drenched her with the hose! At first she wasn’t impressed but then she was quite relived as it was boiling hot so it cooled her down. Ha-Ha.
Friday was a chill out day; all we did was relaxed in the sun outside, attempting to get a tan!
Then in the evening went out with his brothers to a casino for a meal and a bit of innocent gambling, which turned out to be quite good as he came back with more money then he went out with so basically his night out was free! So you can’t complain at that can you?!
Whist he was on his free night out, Lis stayed in and learnt a new song for their show and was very excited about performing it on Saturday.
None of us felt like doing a show though, as we were both ill! Lis thought she had a cold but apparently it wasn’t a cold, it was hay fever! She had never had it before so was feeling like rubbish, great timing on the day they had a gig, which was miles away as well just to top it off.
It was in Doncaster but to be fair we love going there as the crowds are usually really great. So like troopers we are, feeling unwell we still travelled to Doncaster and arrived at the venue quite early to set up.
The gig was great, thank god, because if it was a bad gig it would have made us feel even worse about being ill! But nope it was a great gig, and Lis got to perform her new song which went down really well. She can’t wait to sing it again, especially when her voice is on form!
On our drive back home we stopped to get a drink from a very over priced service station!
And as we stopped the heavens opened up and there was a huge down pour of rain, one minute the car park was bone dry, and the next it was flooded it had rained that much!
We couldn’t believe it and then to top it off there was loads of lightning! Haven’t seen that for a while. So after getting our drinks we ran back to the car already soaked from running into the building, and carried on our drive home in the lightning!
We didn’t get till early hours in the morning, so on Sunday we had a lie in. When we got up we got ready and went over to see Marcus’s mum as she was going on holiday for a week to turkey.
We stayed there for most of the day and then came back home and ordered pizza! Very nice pizza at that and watched a really random film which none of us got the plot to. LOL.
But it was a great end to our week. Stay tuned for next week’s blog.....................................
